A plug tray you have to fill yourself is half a job. These arrive filled, pH balanced and already moist. Each plug measures 1.25 in square. Fifty sit in a standard insert that drops into any 10 in by 20 in tray. Ingredients are OMRI listed organic coco coir, peat moss and bio char. A food-safe binding agent holds them together and the whole plug is compostable. They are also the only Kosher-certified plug on the market. Plugs come pre-moistened with a nutrient blend including trichoderma, a beneficial fungus. White growth in the bag is that fungus and not a problem. If the plugs dry out in storage, rehydrate with clean water and carry on.

Working With OMRI Listed Coco and Peat Plugs

For cuttings, push the stem in until it sits about halfway down. Keep humidity high and mist the leaves straight away. For seed, drop it halfway down the hole and put the tray somewhere warm and dark. Either way, moisture management is the whole game. Never let a plug dry out and never leave it waterlogged.
